2005 Dear Monica and Frank: Thanks for having the B&B. DeLane and I enjoyed it again for the second year. Also a nice change in the weather from the semi-frozen north of North Carolina. Good food, hospitality, music, and the belly dancing babe. Now my wife is scheduled for belly dancing lessons. Woohoo! and Yoga. whoop. Music: Mountain folksy, really enjoyed the downhome quality sound, even the electric fiddle. Pussers rum guy- did a good job, we went out later looking for some, found it in one place, not recognized in another liquor store. Cleanup: I noticed as we were leaving, you all were wrastling trash cans. A call for volunteers before we are all packed up and loaded would have made it easier. Us NC types do help out. Drawings: great fun, and won another Marriott stay. However, and only a small "however", it expires before the 2006 B&B, in mid-January. It states no changes allowed, and we will have to give it to whoever can get away to go to Key Largo in time. Regardless, A great time was had by most everyone. Thanks for putting it on. Steve and DeLane Rosenau *********************************************************************** Hello Frank & Monica, You and your volunteers did it again. What a great event. Something for everyone (especially me). Greg Barton was super in his seminars. The personal attention I received will be practiced over and over. Special racing ideas helped in both races. I attended Karen Knights joga class Sunday morning (my first). I really needed something to get me started after Saturdays tough race. I picked up some good stretching moves. What a happy group of paddlers, interested spectators and helpful employees. Met some paddlers from my area that I plan to paddle with soon. Couple of thoughts for the future. How about a general stretching before the race meeting each day. Not enough paddlers stretch (like me). Karen would be a great leader. Also, when you have a Greg Barton, Robert Clegg or whoever, how about a question and answer hour sometime as part of the weekend. Novices like me would love to hear the answers to good questions, but we are intimidated to bother them. Thank you again for making this event such a success. I look forward to putting your event on my 2006 calendar, making an early room reservation and getting more friends to come. Mike Holland Englewood, Florida *********************************************************************** The Beach party was greeaaatttt !! Karen did a fine job of "gracefully going nowhere" in a borrowed canoe, The food was delicious, and the music and Dianna very good. Congratulations to you, Frank, the FBO Staff and volunteers on another well done Bogey and Bacall Demo Days & Race event. I will let you know when I schedule my trip to the Dove Creek Lodge. Thanks again, Bruce Looman *********************************************************************** Dear: Monica/Frank The B&B were a blast as usual. The Greg Barton's Forward Stroke Paddling Clinic & Race Strategies, the beach party, the live music, the raffles, and much much more make the B&B the race to race and the place to be every February in Florida. Thanks again, Javier Comelli PS: Three days and two nights at the Neptune's Hotel was en excellent prize! I'll see you soon! *********************************************************************** Frank, Monica, others!!! Thanks for putting on the B&B race and entertainment. This is the first time my wife (Liz Bailey) ever competed kayaking and she walked away with a medal (as did everyone else from Michigan, except me!!!). It was a good time, great dinner. Loved how you had it scheduled. Staying at the Marriott was great. Pricey, but great service! And, I could launch my boat from the beach. The guys at the bar were a great help with the slimjim getting my keys out of my locked rental car. Next year if you can arrange for even more wind, it would make things even more exciting. Again, thanks. Steve Bailey
Exclusively Cats *********************************************************************** 2004Dear Monica and Frank Congratulations on organizing a superb race. In my opinion one of the best races organized anywhere in the world. I have no doubt your entries will grow dramatically in the years to come. Have you considered a winter series of 3-4 short races ? kind regards Michael Hoffman *********************************************************************** Hi Frank and Monica, Congratulations to Fbo and your staff for a fun weekend. Another good job under less than ideal conditions. See you soon. Gus Gregory *************************************************************** I just wanted to thank you folks for putting on the race this year and every year. By far the Bogey and Bacall is the best run race and the race that I most look forward to each year. Even though the race course was changed due to the wind, I like the three laps with the turn in front of the pier, I think it makes it a little more interesting for the spectators. Thanks Again Brian *********************************************************************** Monica, I got an e-mail from Joe and replied, so we are in contact. Thanks! I had as great time down there as usual. It gets better every year! Matt |
